The
Fish Rots From The Head Down.
Hershell
Price’s three-quarter page
“stinky fish” response in the most recent print
edition of the Del Mar Times which I couldn’t find on the Internet to
what seems to have been a reasonable observation,
“Please don’t run 4 a seat on the Del Mar
City Council” [sic],
by
one resident of
Why
get so personal with a neighbor who understands rather well the issue of
“conflict of interest” that not only must one be
impartial in order for our so fragile democracy to continue standing erect but
one must appear to the commoner to be a man-woman
who under no circumstances can be bought and paid for when behind “closed doors” which is not to
suggest we get into the knitty gritty of the Price’s personal lives altho
I see nothing wrong with those seeking governing positions to provide balance
sheets forget tax returns going back say 5 years, agree?
Rather
than get into a monologue, my Partner-Wife expressing such matters rather well,
“When the dialogue
becomes tTOo monologues it is the beginning of the end” [sic],
why
don’t we have a town hall meeting and for those owners and renters who are
vacationing in other hot spots around the globe to watch via a TV-Satellite
broadcast such an entertaining gathering, folks encouraged to wear their most
elegant attire, everyone encouraged to choose their words carefully, a little
more fearful of “flyer-buster” [sic] speeches letting the rest of
the world observe closely as we get down to serious,
“dirt-business”, agree?
What
will our kids many coming of age, able to read and understand whose formal
education has yet to interfere with their learning make of the sanctimonious
leadership, agree?
Hypocrisy
like evidence when well presented not in the least bit difficult for folks to
follow assuming they have had no more than a 6th grade education to
mention in passing their sequencing not being interrupted, each and every one
of us pretty much programmed right at the start, agree?
The
knee jerk reaction of the Mayor of
“Did the consultant you hired to assist
with your new tax proposal effecting each resident of Del Mar not simply the
property owners many such as myself easily able to afford the more likely
$12,000 in additional taxes on every house sold which us rich folk, not
necessarily all of us having a private Swiss Banker at the ripe old age of 10,
needing all that much more formal education to know how to sock it to the
working class and dirt poor, bother to do a ‘risk assessment’ to share with
all the residents of Del Mar the lunacy of such a property transfer tax which
will only go up in time while possibly triggering a real estate market crash”
[sic]?
Agree,
it is very possible given the Digital Age that has some of us operating our
laptop computers wirelessly able to breath in the fresh “Oshon” [sic] swept
air will be able to relay suggestions coming in from all 4 corners of the
planet much like I was trying to do at the last Del Mar City Council powwow
where Hershel, in my opinion, was quite the cheerleader worthy of, at a
minimum, a bouquet of flowers which once I have finished this email sitting on
the beach here at 15th Street in downtown Del Mar just a “hop
jump and a scotch” [sic] from where the Willis Brothers have
pitched their tent, watching, as I type at lightening speed, our 11 year old
blast thru the 24 centimeter surf on his RAT designed surfboard, I will
walk up to the flower shop at the corner of 15ht street and Highway 101 leaving
it up to Hershell and his wife to “will call” since I only
have Hershell’s email address which he so kindly provided me when we last
rubbed shoulders at that pitiful City Council “workshop” that assisted me greatly,
a very much retired almost half centurion former corporate “work out”
guy to feel full-on rejuvenated.
“Risk Assessment” is my
business.

Ps – It’s not class warfare that I
am encouraging, its class welfare I am questioning. And I am a member of the
favored class.
