Subject: RE: Re Seacrest.

Dear David and Neil,

Thank you for the wishes. Make no mistake though both Marie and I know exactly what we are getting ourselves into, leaving naturally nothing to chance for the simple reason that neither of us are in the least bit superstitious relying rather on logic to make ends meet with a twist of spirituality thrown in for good measure.

Now although I am joined at the hip with Marie who is really hip I do not, however, talk for her, but we do though see very much eye to eye on just about every issue. Important I think for you both to note is that my logical approach to everything I do is very much tied in with not only my belief in God but my love for wanting to get things right, that it is all about individual responsibility which leads me to let you know that Mr. Gary Glass not only got the message but when handing over to the first love of my life part of the overdue monies commented, “Tell your friend to get off my back.”

Gary Glass is to be commended for not dragging things out unnecessarily as others like Dr. John Ben Stewart [JBS], Marie’s ex-husband has done, but then again Gary Glass knows me longer than JBS and made in my opinion a very smart move. I will, however, be sending Mr. Glass a follow up private email that only he and his ex-wife will be copied on making him well aware just one more time that even if I do get hit by say a cement truck he better not slack off in his commitment to stay on top of things even if it means him having to go flip hamburgers to make ends meet and of course if he washes his hands after going to the toilet we might even offer him the matre D spot at Ccrest, wouldn’t you agree?

Marie, like me, is a very sweet person butT not someone to be rubbed up the wrong way as JBS discovered in court back on October 24th of last year.

Getting down to business, contained in my previous E-mail were a couple of key paragraphs,

“…don’t like to go around in circles nor do I like to negotiate with myself and I think you would agree that it makes sense for there to be a minimum amount that covers the rent the two of you would be paying for in such a terrific spot in what is undoubtedly God’s hangout when visiting England with the ocean just a couple of steps in front of the entrance assuming you are doing your daily stretching.

Please also let me know what amount above and beyond that figure should be an additional amount covering the restaurant as well as renting out the remaining two bedrooms when “we” are not around. Somewhere you should have come across my discussing my former “significant other” aka “Mds” and I bringing the kids over to Europe this summer around mid-July to mid-August but as far as I know we have yet to hear from JBS giving Marie the “green light” in writing. And of course I am copying Dr. John Ben Stewart’s attorney on this communication as well all future communications that I think will keep him on his toes.”

With that said, where in your email below do you address how much minimum rent you are going to be paying for living on the premises and how much on top of that amount would you consider “fair and reasonable” as a minimum amount to be paid to Marie and I for the two of you operating the restaurant and the bed and breakfast?

Make certain when you respond next that the number you come up with is a “market value” approach otherwise you will see very clearly another one of my not so sweet knuckleball emails that I threw the way of the former manager who played it fast and loose.

I am though happy that the two of you will serve as witnesses should I decide to bring a court action against Mr. Russell Knight for negatively impacting my business. And while you whine about the business and the money you are “out of pocket” give some thought would you to my opportunity cost.

Sincerely,

Gary S. Gevisser

.

Hi Gary,
Nice to hear from you again, firstly congratulations to you and Marie on your marriage, its sounds that you are both very well matched in your lives and personalities, most likely after 9 years you must know each other well by now.

Re Insurance, we have taken out public liability insurance for the cafe, its contents and the fixtures and fitting etc, plus our personal home insurance covers our furniture and personal belongings.
the main building insurance however apparently is the responsability of the property owner, therefore we are not aware if this is covered by yourself.

Please find attached a copy of our first months accounts for the cafe, at present it is showing a debit, this unfortunetly is due to the intial outlay in preparing the cafe for opening, as you are aware Russell did leave the place in a mess.

Following a visit from the environmental health officer we had to get new equipment to bring the kitchen up to the required standards set by the authorities, these are all in place now and we look forward to his return visit in a few weeks !!!!!.

In regards to letting the other rooms on a bed and breakfast basis, at present we are trying to rebuild the cafes reputation which russell m
anaged to ruin among local people, gradually we are gaining peoples trust and custom again thankfully.

Hopefully in the future we will be able to look at refurbishing the bedrooms in view of letting, however this will be when we can accumulate the funds to do the project properly and in accordance with the regulations set by the local authorities and council.

Once again congratulations on your marriage and we wish you both the very best of luck and good fortune.

Yours.

David & Neil.
