Stacy, I don’t believe in “accidents” although I know for “certain” that mistakes happen only when we are rushed.

There are though no certainties in life just “high, medium and low probabilities” as in Quantum Mechanics although those “failed students” of mine from the University of Natal, South Africa who rather than learn about theart of larcenydecided to go study art would be well aware of the fact that a good painting is made up of 3 things, shape, values and chroma; the shape, always happy to get the “4shortening write” [sic], the “values”, the various shades of gray remaining constant throughout the canvas while the “chroma”, the richness of the colors, the high, medium and low chroma go back and forth just like a wave, fortunate we are to have perhaps Sebastian Capella’s greatest wave painting, never to forget that black and white have no color.

Learning how to get away with “lying stealing and cheating” is pretty much all that attracts youngsters to business school these days quite opposite to the teachings of folks like Pythagoras and his inner circle made up of multi-task oriented women.

Yesterday’s birthday celebration was a sight to behold with more than 20 of his students ranging from ages 19 to well into their 70s possibly even 80s showing up to pay “homage” to this incredible professor who can cater to all types, rarely if ever losing his cool, including incompetent artist-painters such as myself. 32 had planned to be there were it not for a crane toppling over where the 5 freeway meets the 805 in what became the longest wait in the history of San Diego commuters which had many folks like me wanting to pull out their laptops and to get on to the World Wide Wait.

Actually it would have been impossible for me to pull out my computer since I had Marie riding pillion and it is doubtful she would have allowed me to type away even if I had found an ingenious way to strap the laptop to the gas tank of the Ducati. Despite the traffic lights being out and bumper to bumper traffic we made it from Del Mar to Faye Street in La Jolla in less time than it took for the “yacht” to download while dining with Mr. Krinsk Esq. the other day.

I am though once again “under the gun” to get moving this morning having to meet our first Grubby and GirlieGarb.com “franchisee” downtown in less than 30 minutes.

Mr. Butler, a real estate agent I have communicated with before just called Marie’s house “pleading” with Marie not to go ahead and sell the house this morning, “Do you know what I can sell it for. I just sold a house in the neighborhood…” Marie though has developed quite a way to cut people short bearing in mind though I can when “ambulant” accomplish a task that took her all of 15 seconds in less than 3 seconds, as long as it takes for me say www.sellnext.com.

Right now Marie is having fun with Pypeetoe who is getting, “mean.”

Devin Standard, the executor of my estate, who is right now “canvassing” his move to Colorado where he plans to join a conglomerate with “water” related business responded to this last E-mail of mine by letting me know;Gary: 1/2 my ancestors emigrated to the USA from Barbados. My dad's folks. DSS

I still look forward to getting a phone call from his now “skiing-all-talk buddy” Polie “Pollster” Pollak. You may have read in one of my previous emails how my wife who when we first met I referred to as “Tokolosh” thinking that it was Zulu for “witchdoctor” once commented as she arose one morning, always smelling like a rose, “I may be a Tokolosh but you sure talk a lot” [sic].

The reason for the “sic” is that I am all butt certain Marie didn’t use the word “sure” for she is ever so brief with her words and I know better than to test her patience. By the way before Devin became a budding entrepreneur he did a lot of running around the world on behalf of Colgate’s Mennem division.

At first I thought your were “Stacy Fried” and wondered whether you received the reply email I sent her back on May 9th?

Again, do not be put off by my “round about” way of communicating for there really is sense to much of the Chaos in this world especially those in tune who haven’t bought into the nonsense of “what you lose on the swings you can make up on the roundabouts” never to forget that folks are beginning to treasure their cents more than their dollars as the currency printing presses work overtime.

Back in the late 1989 I was called in to restructure the Epilady USA “empire” whose main backers had interests in amusement parks to mention little of the identical twin Krok brothers’ strong foothold in the pharmaceutical industry back in South Africa that catered in many ways to the somewhat deprived masses, once a bone of contention between myself and my more eloquent journalist cousin, Mark Gevisser, who at the time of the Broadway musical revival, Meet Me in St. Louis, wanted to make more “hey” [sic] out of the Kroks’ skin lightening creams than I thought wasn’t warranted to mention little of his father’s role in assisting the likes of Charles Engelhard laying waste to South Africa’s precious natural resources.

Although I had very little experience in the “deportment shop” [sic] business and even less in the mass market and none whatsoever in Shareholder Class-Action Litigation I was able to draw from both sides of my family’s “operations” in South Africa but mostly from reading my father’s logbooks from WWII. Perhaps most telling about my father besides being a rather good fighter-bomber-pilot was his ability to express himself in the most precise way, always telling the truth even if he and his fellow pilots hit the “wrong target” fortunate enough though to have a commanding officer who between operations 25 and 26 had the good sense to send him and two buddies off to Cannes for a week where they got,2 D/Hs + 1 FAIR MISS.”

I just noticed that today is the opening of the 56th Cannes Film Festival. A few years back I attended one of these festivals going from one yacht to another never once, however, losing my grip despite the slippery slopes associated with this “rough and tumble” business in many ways like the SCAL business although whereas people like Jeffrey Krinsk have their own “skin in the game” movie business types are hell bent on using “OPM” as in Other Peoples Money which is oftentimes akin to stealing money out of ATMs, a device I have yet to use even once.

I have a cousin in the movie business whose claim to fame is that he co-produced Saving Private Ryan with Steven Spielberg and God only knows what spiel Gary Lewinson put forth but obviously it was enough to sway a master film maker like Spielberg who I hear is a rather conservative investor putting a good chunk of his savings into things like Treasury Bills, the schmuck.

In due course I will be following up with Professor Klein of Stanford University to see how his Neanderthal excavations are coming along. Let me know if you would like to be copied in on that email.

The reaction to this last E-mail you were copied on was quite varied to mention little of a best selling author and senior journalist for the New York Times deciding to contact me after quite an absence. Timing like numbers is the essence of all things, good or evil, wouldn’t you agree?

Trust me there are going to be very interesting times ahead and I don’t think you wont to be left out nor do I think the world will be better off without your continued input.

Let me also know if you would like to get together again; for one thing I would like to show you the business model Marie and I are now wanting to perfect that should start the world, especially our kids, thinking straight to mention little of Jonathan’s mouse trap which shows that despite “head trips” galore he remains capable of thinking outside of the box.

Gary
