Hi Gary,

I know that you do your best at not letting emotion enter into play, but when you go from one of you last emails (with little hyperlinks) to this one, that is the first thing that I think, before even reading it.  Do you remember childhood and how girls in particular would do what I would call a ‘windmill’ with there arms, flailing in a circular motion… Well, when you responded to this woman, you ‘windmilled’. You hit her with all kinds of stuff, most if not all of which would only make sense to a select few, most of which probably have their own selfish agenda for reading it (i.e authorities or people afraid of what you might have to say).

When you write me personally, it’s almost like you have an alternate persona, now that I think about it, maybe it’s because you are more calm and focused. To me, your emails still seem like you are trying to fit everything into one email, without separating your thoughts. In your mind, you have already connected all the pieces, but you need to realize that not everyone has all the information that you do, and like I said, with the exception of the people that have a selfish agenda, most people (in my opinion) wouldn’t be able to connect all of the pieces unless they were to sit down with an outline drawing connections between everyone that you reference.

I don’t know how safe this would be… but maybe you should sit down some time and draw a diagram with lines connected between all the people involved and in between each name, how they are connected. To me that would be REALLY interesting, easy to read, and I think even if you were to use it solely to help you organize you’re your thoughts for emailing, it would be helpful to get it our of your mind as opposed to the constant worry you must have about somehow losing it. I know for me, if I have a list of tasks, it relieves a lot of stress to write it down so that I am no longer worrying about it. I don’t know if it would help for you or if you are even stressed about things… maybe you do this already.

The underlined theme of what I am suggesting is to do what you told me when we first met… “I value you my time, you should value yours” now I am paraphrasing but that was one of the first things you told me. And what that told me was don’t write or tell me (aka waste my time and yours) unless you have organized your thoughts and what you are writing/telling me is concentrated, black and white, direct and succinct. It is my understanding that most of the people that you write, are a successful minority or business people, most of which probably don’t have the patience to read everything that you write.

I think you would shock the people that you email regularly if you were to write a calculated direct email. They wouldn’t know what to expect next and I think would take you more seriously. Give them a chance to call your thoughts drivel and see them change their opinions.

Adam
