Subject: RE: Seacrest
Dave - I am going to start
off where I left off on an email to a gentleman who told me how much he “loves” email [click on love
hyperlink].
The bottom line is that if
we were to sell today we would want no less than 275,000.
While we are considering
all options including running the café ourselves in the future we might
entertain a deal with you under the following conditions:
1) Base rent of 650 a month.
2) Plus 5% of sales.
3) Rental period one year with no option to purchase.
4) You would be responsible for all taxes, repairs and
maintenance.
While many rental
agreements have the owner responsible for the “upkeep” of the property we are
not willing to do so unless the rent was significantly higher.
As you know, apart from
Valerie, a godsend, we have been rather unfortunate with our “choice” of
operators but have managed to “make up” for the financial and emotional “drain”
by drawing upon our experiences to empower the next generation to understand that
it is not so much “what goes around comes around with a vengeance” but there is
no way possible for the next generation to end up more corrupt than our
generation given the extraordinary depletion of our limited resources to
mention little of the high level of risk in the capital and financial markets
that barring each of us coming together real soon there wont be much to talk
about as we all stand in food kitchen lines all over the world, those of us who
have survived the “end of the world”.
Bottom line, I remain
exceedingly optimistic only because I know it is very possible to bring us all
together - again up to each of us to do the right thing and the smart thing
which is also the right thing and use our heads, beginning with not be so dumb
as to trust anyone at “face value.”
I also need to hear from
you how much rent you can pay in advance as well as for you to let me know more
about your personal financial situation; i.e. what your balance sheet looks
like bearing in mind I know that if you were in a great financial position you
would have purchased Seacrest.
Ps – Obviously if you make a great go of Seacrest my wife and I would be
less likely inclined to sell, possibly willing to enter into more of a
“partnership” arrangement but we are not quite there at this point.

Sorry
This coupled with a trip
up to my home town
Many thanks for your reply
we would be interested at 600 per month and would suggest that the offer to buy
at a later date would be still of interest
My thoughts although
difficult to get over properly on email are that subject to your agreement to
try to establish a top end sea food / fish and steak bistro
We have all of the
material and kitchen equipment in order to do this and would be happy to carry
out some maintenance and upgrades with your approval
If we can do what we have
achieved at the X
albeit on a smaller scale this would give prospective lenders in the uk a
positive outlook and survey by which to lend against for the purchase
I am sorry if any of this
is in any way unclear but as i said earlier email just not really my thing and
to that end I would be happy to discuss this by phone if you prefer
One thing We would like to
say is that we are sincere about this and would endevour to only improve and
enhance the business at all times
Best Regards Dave

Dave - I understand from
Valerie that although you didn't respond to my
email below you might be
interested in renting Seacrest at 600 pounds a
month for two years
without an option to purchase.
We might be interested at
that price through May of 2008.
We are also continuing to
explore other options but if you are interested
then please let me know.

Subject: RE:
As far as we are concerned
the property could be eaten by termites or rotten
away - you know as well as
we know that location is everything.
With all that said, should
you wish for us to even consider a proposal from
you - don't bring back all
these issues raised by a previous bidder [see
attached], this will not
serve to move the process forward - may I suggest
you come back with a bid
not only closer to 300,000 pounds bearing in mind
that 12 months from now
the English pound could be worthless and this
one-of-a-kind property
worth all the gold in china but that you also include
in a much more fair rental
- 500 pounds at least 150 pounds less than what
we would consider even
close to being fair - an amount covering such an
option to purchase bearing
in mind you might decide not to exercise the
option given adverse
market conditions and/or you deciding to leverage your
option to do a deal
elsewhere leaving us "holding the bag" having decided to
forego selling at this time
when the pound remains above the worthless mark
to mention little of the
property being worth possibly a whole lot more were
it to be leveled down to
its foundation.
Dave, like you, I have
been around the block longer than most kids
especially those who
unlike me were "gifted" a number of things from a very
early age including the
ability to figure out pretty much every "trick in
the trade" the result
of each of us not learning from the mistakes of the
previous generation until
such time as we are either too old, lacking the
energy to fix the wrongs
that get passed down from one generation to the
next leading to each
successive generation becoming that much dumber or
simply too corrupt to the
point that we become fixated on grabbing as much
as we can as quickly as
possible justifying such insidious actions on the
basis that we need to
steal that much more in order to protect our children
who as logic would dictate
become even more corrupt than us.
Carbon Copied on this
email is Mr. Devin Standard who is the executor of my
estate.
Suffice to say I am a
rather busy person these days as I now begin to "wind
down" in preparation
to produce by the end of this month a first draft of my
forthcoming book whose
subtitle is, "Message for the President".
Also bear in mind that
there is in fact nothing in the least bit
confidential about email
communications and something which I happen to not
only support but applaud;
i.e. the more everyone knows about each one of us
the less likely it is that
we will choose war to settle our differences.

Dear Dave,
We have already received
an offer of 275,000 pounds and are waiting for the
party to "firm
up" the deal.
Our asking price is
currently 285,000 and the party that brings the cash "to
the table" gets the
deal of a lifetime.
With that said, please
provide me at your convenience with your very best
offer including a rental
agreement with the right to purchase after 12
months.
Best regards,
Gary S. Gevisser
