Subject: Not for everyone...
Fellow
members of the mortal persuasion,
The last act of the bygone year was on the morning of December 31 when the
power supply (I hope) on my Mac G5 expired (and hopefully not the
warranty as well). In the face of this example of mendacious,
sadistic and at least inconsiderately peripatetic fortune, let me
say this:
2005 is gone. Poof! Bye, bye!
May 2006 be a good year for you, me and everyone!
Period.
May the gods, and the mothers of the gods,
and their aeonic mothers to the first spark of nonbeing/being,
bend their heads in respect of the sheer persistence of human dignity,
as so excellently demonstrated by their boy, Sisyphus, who,
for telling truthfully of their foibles, the immortals left in Hades
FOREVER, to eternally ape the plight of human mortality.
Unlike the mythical Sisyphus, our lives are
condemned but by our own beliefs to wear, or not to wear,
our individuated yokes of mortality in blind despair.
If, like Sisyphus, we climb the mountains of our lives with cupidic
expectations,
it is by choice that we begin that way each day.
In flagrant declaration of limitless, creative will, I say,
let consequences be damned.
But stand the ground of principle with Sisyphus and
gods by definition behave as they wish;
by word alone we behave as gods.
Roll on,
