Dear Wink,

I left a voicemail this morning for you.

So as to expedite the process perhaps I can begin by providing you additional information based on your response to Derrick today [02/27/2004 12:42], “us” Americans doing things a little “backward”, bear in mind tho that I am for all intent and purposes “half English” since my mother was “born and raised” in the north of England, Leeds not exactly Scotland, yards versus meters though is what is giving “us” English quite the competitive edge.

With all that said, and might I just add one other number thing, my wife, Marie Dion, and I live down by the beach in Del Mar, California, at least part of the year when traveling “back and forth” between our rock cabin in the mountains just east, the beach house address is 227 27th Street, and G-d forbid I “scare” u with my “number theory” although Chaos Theory is at the heart of my “risk assessment” business, the number 42 just so happens to be a rather important number in my vocabulary, the 4 numbers 1142 when multiplied and/or added end up with the resulting 8, infinite solutions in terms of each of us, that is you and I, helping one another, cutting to the chase.

Our property is located on the main beach road in Minehead, Somerset at the turnaround. It is both a café as well as a bed and breakfast although since purchasing the property in December 2001 we have only operated it as a café, and quite frankly it would be stretching things somewhat by leaving you with the impression my wife and I could do a worse job than the folks who have run the café section up until now.

For the tail end of the last summer season we did a total of 5,000 pounds “on the books”, i.e. Margaret who is a neighbor took over in August-September, having to do quite the “clean up” left by the previous managers no doubt spending a great deal of her time “fixing” what was once an excellent reputation, SeaCrest having changed hands several times over the past 50 years and from what we could tell taking care of by individuals who put not only “cleanliness next to Godliness” but at least equally important, since without a business, the only mess one has to clean up is “your own.”

I am looking to have a first mortgage of anywhere up to 177,000 pounds placed on the property, this amount representing the amount I paid for this “one of a kind” property paid for in “hard cash”, the proceeds to be used principally to refurbish both the café and living quarters, my understanding from folks in the area who know a whole lot about running a café, certainly more than me, my wife, Marie who if she were around and saw me typing away throwing in all this extraneous stuff would be possibly smacking me over the head telling me to stop being so “infantile…finish your book [Manager Minute One]” my needing to always plug this one of a kind book a “rip off” of the business best seller, One Minute Manager, one point being the café section alone could do 100,000 pounds in annual turnover with the right management possibly netting my wife and I, neither of us into high-wire acts, net, after taxes, some 5,000 pounds, and then there is the bed and breakfast business which right now is generating sum, I believe, 350 pounds net from one of Margaret’s daughters.

Should you wish to find out more details please let me know and if for any reason I am not available please do not hesitate to contact my attorney in Minehead, Mr. Rob McLusky of Risdon Hosegood who can be reached through his assistant, Sue Walker.

Sincerely,

Gary Gevisser
