Why would you place yourself in the same category as Chris “Little Mind Me” Little?

Just like Clueless Little saw fit to send me your email address what would it take for you to share with me just once your entire email list and please exclude Clueless Little.

Ps – Earlier I sent this email to a very carefully selected list who can be counted on not to broadcast it.

It should tell you “sumthing” [sic] about me.

Bear in mind that I was rather hungry after a relatively fast 90 minute loop walk of Noble Canyon which besides for not wanting to be crystal clear may explain “sum” [sic] of the reasons why it is not crystal clear.

Noble Canyon is deep in the Cleveland National Forest, not to mention I did lose my balance in this one of many rather tricky sections while carrying a good sized white rock that if the helicopters were to have been needed would have served as a brilliant reflector.

Suffice to say I simply wasn’t strong enough to carry it back up the 15 odd meter embankment. In fact, since I feel you are curious to know this was now my second attempt. Perhaps early tomorrow morning after I have eaten a very healthy dinner and got a great night’s sleep I will complete the job that should make my wife very happy.

Gold last trading at $596.60 a troy ounce.

I am totally clueless.  Does this mean you want me to remove kfinewsdirector@kfi640.com off our distribution list?  Who is Gary Gevisser, that name is not in our database.

I don’t wish to send email that is not wanted.

Thank you,

Pat Wright

We don’t want to Spam!  I got a nasty email from Cox Communications saying they’ve received 21 complaints from AOL users about these emails being spam.  1 person could have complained 21 times, or 21 people might have complained once – so if you don’t wish to receive these emails, please email me at dsrj@cox.net.  They are threatening to close the account.

Special event this Thursday night in La Mesa – 7 to 8:15 pm

Dr Todd Cecil, formerly of the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital in Mission Valley is now providing exotic care at the Pet Emergency & Specialty Center in La Mesa.  He has invited us to tour the hospital and explain their services.  Don’t wait until an emergency to be familiar with an emergency vet.  It would be nice to meet some San Diego area ferret enthusiasts – please come and let me know in advance at dsrj@cox.net.  Reservations are not required, just appreciated.

Attention LA People – How About A New Year’s Day Rally?

A quick look at the 3,000 Club sign up page on http://www.legalizeferrets.org/3000-club-members.php doesn’t show many Los Angeles county people.  There is a lot of ferret activity in San Diego, the Bay Area, Orange County and Sacramento, but LA has been kind of left out.

Why don’t we start 2007, The Year of the Ferret, off with a rally in Los Angeles?  We’ve had New Year’s Day Rallies in San Diego before and have had decent turnouts.  We’ve asked people to leave their ferret at home and bring a dog (or iguana) in their place to the park and had success.  Does anyone have any ideas how to kick off the Year of the Ferret in the LA area?  Please email me at dsrj@cox.net if you are interested in helping or even attending.

Field Poll Confirmed

We have reserved space in the February 2007 statewide Field Poll.  They are going to ask three questions of a representative sample of Californians.  We are going to find out how much support there is for a ballot initiative, how much awareness there is of domestic ferrets, and how likely people are to believe Fish and Game’s claims that ferrets pose any kind of a threat. Since we have reserved the space, they are going to redo our questions and it will be up on our website when they finish it.   The cost – about $6,000.  This is an important step in our efforts as it will give credibility to the initiative and will even help in the legislature.

Plus, see below, we are going to produce a newspaper.  A fundraising letter will go out shortly.  I hope you agree that these efforts are necessary and will support them.

Ferret Legalization News Newspaper in the Works – We Need Writers.

We are going to produce 100,000 tabloid newspapers for the Fall/Winter Ferret Legalization News which we want to distribute in the all the pet stores, ferret vets and where ever.  We want to have something educational and also promote legalization to be able hand out.  Tabloids cost about three cents each – such a bargain.

Do you like to write? I have the first article committed from Dr Jenkins at the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital; he’s going to update this article.  We also want to cover:

Ø       What’s so Special About Ferrets?

Ø       What is a Domestic Ferret?

Ø       Children Denied Pet Ferret Companionship in California – What’s a Parent to do when their child wants a ferret?

Ø       2007 – Year of the Ferret, Our Efforts for Legalization

Ø       LegalizeFerrets.org and the 3,000 Club

Ø       Local Ferret Clubs (info on how to contact the local ferret clubs and what they do)

Ø       Any other ideas??

Do you have a great photo of ferrets or ferrets and their people?  Please send it in.

Are you with a company that would like to advertise in this newspaper or sponsor it?  If so, please email me at dsrj@cox.net.

Legislative Efforts

A letter went out to Senator Denise Ducheny asking her to sponsor legislation next year – we’ll give her a little time before we call her office and ask for an appointment.

Financial Statement

I sent the financials to Pat L, our treasurer.  But in exporting the file, it took out a few transactions in the beginning.  Good Luck, Pat L, trying to put it together.  And I’ve decided you can have all the finances J  We’ll hope for regular reports to start shortly.

Thank you for your support!  If you have any comments, ideas, questions or whatever, I’d love to hear them.

If you haven’t already done so – please join the 3,000 Club.  Details are at www.legalizeferrets.org
