Mair has related the story about your dog, Pypeetoe, to me and we're both glad the outcome was in his favor. As for Don's troubles...

We have elected not to get involved in the matter. The question is not what the deputy has to do, but rather, what Don has to do to be run out of town. If he's living within the law he has legal recourse, if not, he doesn't. I'm afraid living in a camper in the Cleveland National Forest is not a legal activity. If he has all of his permit ducks in a row, and is not a law breaker with outstanding warrants, he should be fine and untouchable, if not, there's nothing you, or we, can do.

We've both encountered Don on our walks, and find him to be a pleasant, if overly talkative, man. But that's all we know.
