If you have been
contacted by Zena Gevisser, I would not take what she says for face value. She
is trying to protect her son in the only way that she knows how. She is afraid
of him saying too much and pissing off the wrong people. But if one throws a label
of mental illness on someone, then their words are less damaging, and perhaps
justifiable.
You have/had access to a
world that most are unaware of, including me. Whether
I was born Jewish, from
parents that met on a Kibbutz during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. I am too young
to know and feel the wars that occurred before I was born, but I have seen
enough pain and suffering around me to know that I don’t want to contribute to
it. Unfortunately, this is one of the few situations in which if one is not
contributing, one can only be detracting.
