Drei, brilliantly said.

One suggestion that you consider telling the kids something along the following,

I sent the following to your parents earlier today, ‘I saw… way to go parents…’”

But now u have to ask yourselves, “Can I do better?” followed by “What steps do I need to take to be the best that I can be?” which is to say, “Making fun of a missed play makes me feel better about myself” as if to say “No one out there is looking and therefore I can get away with pretty much anything” nothing quite like being “a clown” so who here would like to be the “class clown” and of course we don’t want to be tagging anyone with nicknames that are unkind, unless they are deserving, and I happen to be proud of you all.

The point being lads that when you begin to fool around you don’t simply waste my time and that of those parents probably wanting to see you become independent, the sooner the better, to learn about being team players, that great strength comes from being part of a team. You have all heard the expression, “The sum of the parts is greater than the individual” only you the individual know if you are being the best you be, I can only make suggestions and then it is up to each one of you to execute to the best of your ability.

It makes no sense for anyone to sit or stand on the sidelines yelling at you to try harder or get in position, to “stay after” the person who has managed to pull a “fast one on you” just like if you saw someone stealing something that didn’t belong to them, what would you do say something like, “I will leave it up to someone else to take tackle the wrongdoer”?

The point being, if each of you take the “indifferent” attitude the “bad guys” win, but remember us getting together is all about us having lots of fun but don’t forget the game of soccer like the game of chess which is very similar to the game of life is getting your opponent to play to your advantage.

Which means the first thing you have to be is “in shape.” Second, you have to maintain your position, your center of gravity never letting anyone knock you off your game plan. Then you have to acquire the knowledge to see the mistakes of your opponent and then, I can assure you, that you will have a whole lot more fun.

Winning isn’t everything but it is a whole lot better than losing, worse yet not knowing why you lost, agree?

You are all winners, having beaten out hundreds of millions of others including the sperm and egg that got you were you going back to the minute you were conceived. Now is the time to make the most of your God given DNA and not simply take up space on spaceship earth.” [sic]

Hello Parents,

I saw a few things that the team needs to work on at practice today.

So we should just forget last Saturday and say it was frustratingly fun day.

The guys were good sports and that makes me proud.

Way to go Parents...

Sincerely,

Coach Drei

Just a small FYI from the league.
