"As long as young people feel they have got no hope but
to blow themselves up, you are never going to make
progress."
-- Cherie Blair, wife of British Prime
Minister Tony Blair
"The Palestinians are fighting with human suicide
bombers, that's all they have. The Israelis ... they've got
one of the most powerful military machines in the world. The
Palestinians have nothing. So, who are the terrorists? I would
make a case that both sides are involved in
terrorism."
-- Ted Turner, Founder of CNN
"When young people go to their deaths, we can all feel
a degree of compassion for those youngsters - they must be so
depressed and misguided to do this...."
-- Jack
Straw, British Foreign Secretary
As the war against international terrorism continues, the
situation in Israel is deteriorating rapidly with continued
attacks against innocent men, women, and children. A degree of
moral confusion has emerged with prominent world dignitaries
expressing sympathy and compassion for the suicide bombers.
At the same time,
the European Union, after the United Nations the most
influential international body, representing 15 member states,
has been a main benefactor of the Palestinian Authority. It
recently announced a further grant of $17.7 million (U.S.) to
the P.A.
With homicide mass murders unabating, the Simon Wiesenthal
Center has strongly protested to EU External Affairs
Commissioner, Chris Patten, that any further funding of the PA
should be suspended until the European Union conducts an
independent investigation to determine if any of these fund
are being diverted to support acts of terror.
