Prior to joining VCI as a Global Business Development Manager, Devin had a unique mix of corporate, entrepreneurial, domestic and international business experience. He has served as the President of QuasArk America, Inc. a high-speed maritime research and design company he founded together with the French Naval designer Quasar Khanh since the year 2000. He has been instrumental in the fundraising, marketing, advertising, legal and administrative aspects of getting that business up and running, as well as in the management team, and customer relationship creation necessary for it’s growing success within the defense industry.

Before co-founding QuasArk America, Inc., Mr. Standard was a global marketing expert for Colgate-Palmolive Co., Inc.  His last responsibilities before forming QuasArk include the Marketing Directorship of the company’s Vietnamese subsidiary, Colgate-Palmolive Vietnam, Ltd. His marketing group won Colgate’s coveted “You Can Make A Difference” award, for outstanding promotions, in 2000.  In 1997 he was awarded Colgate’s coveted “Best of the Best” award for successfully revitalizing the Palmolive personal care range in Germany. Sales, in this very mature market, shot up 25% in 18 months due to his motivation of the sales force and the trade. His development of the Mennen product range in Ecuador, on the strength of equity focused marketing he created and executed, such as the nationally famous Speed Stick Racing Team and Road Rally del Ecuador was outstanding. The country of Ecuador still has not recovered from his Lady Speed Stick, “Bikini Open” marketing events. His hiring, training, and motivation of his outstanding sales staff allowed his brands to rocket all the to 22% SOM from less than 2% in 21/2 short years. A frequent public speaker and TV guest, his passion and energy lead to success, he was presented with Colgate’s  “Campeon de las Americas” trophy for this excellence in 1995.

A polished public speaker and an author, Mr. Standard has been published in The New York Times, The American in London and quoted in The Economist.  He is currently co-authoring The Outdoor Guide to Inner Vision. Multi-lingual (English, French, Spanish, German) as well as a graduate of The Colorado College(BA) , L’Universite de Doubs(certificat), and Boston’s University’s School of Management(MSM). 

Not satisfied with private pursuits, Standard volunteers with the U.S. Navy Recruiting Command in San Diego in order to help them attract, recruit and retain more young men. Additionally, he serves as a Director of the Late Archie Moore’s  Any Body Can” Children’s charity. He helps organize motivational programs to keep at risk kids off the street and to rescue kids from gangs. He has been invited to speak on The Future at the Boy Scouts Of America’s annual dinner. Finally, this “Honorary Naval Aviator”, always willing to serve his country and recognized for his problem solving skills, was selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to participate in the “Scientists Helping America” conference in 2002(post (/11). Finally, as his focus and dedication earned him a Black Belt in Tai-Jitsu , he volunteers as a self-defense instructor as often as possible.
